Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

November 19, 2013

 

The annual meeting was held at the Selinsgrove indoor pitching facilities, President Denny Hall presiding.  Dave Fisher moved to accept the previous meetings minutes as posted. Mike Stone seconded the motion. Motion carried.

 

Officer Reports:

Treasurer’s Report reviewed by Dave Holliday. Ron Baker moved to accept the report and Jim Wech seconded the motion. Motion carried.

 

President Denny Hall complimented the organization for their willingness to work together over the past two years.

 

Webmaster Lee Estep asked that all club pages be reviewed and that and changes be forwarded to her. She also indicated that our web page received nearly 50,000 hits last year. The WPHPA has undertaken building a new website and work is ongoing. It was also mentioned that 92 “likes” were received on our facebook page.

 

New Business:

Medical Exemption - Lee Estep moved that, starting in 2014, both permanent and temporary medical exemption forms be issued as needed. Permanent medical exemption forms need not be reviewed while temporary medical exemption forms are to be reviewed after 3 years. Tom Reuther seconded the motion. Motion Carried

 

Points Championship (indoor) - Jim Wech moved to exclude indoor winter tournaments at Selinsgrove from the EPHPA Points Championship calculations.  Dave Fisher seconded the motion. Motion carried.

 

Pennsylvania Farm Show - Dick Scott reported that the 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show horseshoe tournament will be held on Thursday, January 9th. This years event will feature two microphones announcing the event, one at the main tournament action, and one announcing results at the crowd participation area.

 

Hall of Fame Committee - Dave Holliday that he has finished his time on the Hall of Fame Committee and that the EPHPA will need a new member to take his place.  Jim Wech moved that information pertaining to the Hall of Fame Committee be placed on the web site. Mike Stone seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

2014 Summer Tournament Schedule - A tentative 2014 summer tournament schedule was established and will be presented for approval at the general membership meeting.

 

State Tournament Awards - Lee Estep moved that we use the same source of plaques for this year’s state tournament as we used last year. Dave Fisher seconded the motion. Motion Carried.

 

President Denny Hall reported that the General Membership meeting will be held on February 16, 2014 at noon at the Mt. Wolf facility. Meeting was adjourned.
